TWO Hampshire runners have raised hundreds of pounds in aid of Parkinson’s UK by completing the London Marathon.

Philip Hiorms, 61, from Basingstoke, raised over £200 for the charity, and Jess Carey, 21, from Ringwood, also completed the event, raising £1,500 so far. Philip completed the challenge in 4 hours and 24 minutes, and Jess completed the eventin 4 hours 58 minutes, along with the 235 other people running in aid of the charity.

Parkinson’s UK have launched their new campaign, called ‘We Won’t Wait’, designed to highlight the need for better treatments for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s UK hopes to raise more than £325,000 from the event in order to continue the research into Parkinson’s disease.
