TWO people have been arrested following a drugs raid in Basingstoke.

As part of Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Fortress, officers carried out warrants in Buckskin, Eastrop and South Ham areas of the town on Tuesday, April 25.

During which Akeem Durowoju, 21, of no fixed abode, has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A.

He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today.

A 34-year-old woman from Basingstoke was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B.

She has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

Inspector Ben Taylor said: “Class A drugs like crack cocaine and heroin do tremendous harm to the people whose lives are blighted by addiction.

“We are determined to identify drug networks that operate in Basingstoke and will continue to disrupt the activities of dealers.”
