It's the first big holiday weekend of the year and according to the weathermen it is not going to rain.

To help you plan for the Easter weekend the Daily Echo team has put together a list of 50 fun things to do across the county this weekend.

They include egg hunts, live music, wildlife events and the chance to meet Thomas the Tank Engine.

1. Take part in the Big Egg Hunt at the Artisan in Southampton. There are seven eggs to find and prizes to win and the Easter Bunny will open the event at 11am on Friday, April 14.

2. Try your hand at art in an abstract painting and mixed media workshop. The event at 11am on Saturday will be held at Southampton City Art Gallery offers the chance to work with artist Abi Kremer and those attending are asked to bring their own brushes.

3. Have some family fun at Hanger Farm's family Easter parade in Totton. People are invited to get together, share stories, and hunt for eggs. The event begins at 2pm on Saturday and the egg hunt begins at 3.30pm.

4. Enjoy acoustic music at Talking Heads in Southampton on Friday evening. The unplugged sessions are free and happen in the Maple Leaf Lounge at the front of the building. The event starts at 8pm and will feature candles, fairy lights, music, and free cupcakes.

5. Dust off your bike and join in the Good Friday ride at 1.30pm at Southampton Common play area. The free event is suitable for families and will start from the Common before taking in the Bargate, St Mary's Stadium, Riverside Park, and Woodmill Bridge.

6. Shop for a bargain at Southampton Market. It opens from 9am until 5pm on Friday and Saturday and features a variety of stalls and stands offering antiques, arts and crafts in Above Bar Street.

7. Join in the Easter Fair at Southampton Common from Thursday, April 13 until Monday, April 23. The fair will offer a number of rides and attractions, as well as a bank holiday market on Monday, April 17.

8. Head over the Itchen River to Woolston's Waterside Family Easter Festival. The extravaganza features a BBQ, children's face painting, and an egg hunt. It runs from 2pm until 9.30pm on Saturday.

9. Bare all and take a dip at the Naked Southampton Skinny Dip. The event at Oaklands Community Pool runs from 6.30pm until 8pm on Saturday and the pool flume will be operating.

10. Friends of Royal Victoria Country Park is inviting residents to its Easter fun day. There will be crafts, a parade, and cakes will be sold to raise funds for a chapel renovation project. the event will be held on Saturday.

11. It's another Easter egg hunt - but with a twist. The event in Beaulieu will offer the chance for a canoe hunt, along with a two-hour guided tour of the area. It will be held at 1.30pm on Saturday.

12. Take a stroll at the Titanic Walk organised by Friend of Southampton Old Cemetery. The group researches the history and helps visitors to locate family graves. The walk begins inside the main gates of the cemetery at 2pm on Saturday.

13. Enjoy Ellie's Extraordinary Adventure at Woolston Library on Saturday at 2pm. The event is part of the Storytelling Festival and follows the story of Ellie, who discovers her brother has fallen inside a book and become lost.

14. Get involved in fun activities at Southampton Sports Centre. The venue is hosting an egg hunt between 10am and 1pm on Saturday, along with tennis, badminton, kite flying and slacklining.

15. Let your hair down at the official Common People warm-up party. The festival comes to Southampton next month and acts including the Cuban Brothers, Soul 45 and Little chief will play a gig at The Social Club at 8pm on Sunday, April 16.

16. Dig out your remote control car and give it a spin at Southampton Mardave Radio Control Car Club. Members aged from three to 70 race indoors at the event, which is held at Otterbourne Village Hall from 8.30am to 1.30pm on Sundays.

17. Go to a community drop-in for people with dementia at Denys Friendlies. Activities include talks, walks, crafts, board games and trips out. The sessions will be held at St Denys Church Centre from 10am until midday on Monday.

18. Admire the beauty of nature at a wildlife and butterfly walk in Southampton. The event will be held at the Common and begins at 2pm on Sunday.

19. Get advice and information on living with cancer at Macmillan Mondays. Southampton Central Library hosts the sessions, which also offer a tour around the city's central parks, between 10.30am and 2.30pm weekly.

20. Go to Exbury Gardens and take part in interactive family fun events. The gardens will be hosting bushcraft sessions, storytelling, egg trails, plant adventures, and chocolate workshops throughout the weekend.

21. Have some fun at Sobar and 90 Degrees' Garden Party on Saturday. The all-day event runs from 2pm until 3am on Sunday and will feature 12 DJs, a BBQ and a fully-decorated terrace.

22. Join in a chicken race at Royal Victoria Country Park. Families can join in and make their own chicken masks, as well as taking part in the egg and spoon race. The races will be held at 10am today, THURSDAY APR 13 Thursday, April 20, and Friday, April 21.

23. Head out to see Southampton's musicians at Mango Jam on Thursday night. The Basement is hosting the event, which begins at 9.30pm, and entry is free.

24. Get in shape by taking part in a Parkrun. The events are free and begin at 9am every Saturday. Lace your trainers up and get involved at runs in Lymington, Winchester, Netley Abbey, Southampton Common, Eastleigh, Fareham, Lee-on-the-Solent, Whiteley and Brockenhurst.

25. Relive a famous TV programme at a Thomas the Tank Engine-themed day out in Alresford. Young and old alike will have the chance to meet Thomas and his friends at the Watercress Line between 9.35am and 4.30pm from Friday until April 23.

26. Go and meet the Easter Bunny at the Spinnaker Tower. Yes, it's in Portsmouth, but the bunny will be meeting families and giving out tasty treats from Friday until Monday.

27. Browse food and drink direct from its producers at Emsworth Farmers' Market. The event will be held on Friday at St Peters Square.

28. Head to Port Solent for an Easter Egg hunt and get your hands on some chocolate treats. The hunt is open to all children aged three to 12 while stocks last. It runs from 11am until 2pm on Sunday.

29. Learn about ocean liners at the Port Out, Southampton Home exhibition at SeaCity Museum. The exclusive show features information about the importance of liners to Southampton between the 1920s and 1950s, and it is open daily until June 4.

30. Cast your eyes over murals by renowned artist Rex Whistler. The soldier's work, created before he was killed in action in the Second World War, will be on display at Mottisfont, near Romsey, until April 23.

31. Put your imagination to use at the Naked Basing House tour - but it's not what it sounds like! The event shows examples of high-class buildings constructed during the Tudor period. It will be held daily at The Street in Old Basing until October 26.

32. Get involved in an Easter Egg hunt with a difference at trampoline park Flip Out. The Chandler's Ford-based centre will be putting on slam dunk basketball and freerunning sessions, and the activities run until April 23.

33. Peruse some unusual artwork - and even create your own - at the Small Faces open exhibition. Solent Showcase is hosting the postcard portrait and describes it as a "collective act of creativity where anyone can submit a portrait". It opens from 11am to 6pm daily until Friday, April 21.

34. Take some pictures and get involved with the Daily Echo's Camera Club. Snappers across the county have been sending in their stunning pictures - meaning they could potentially be seen by more than a million people - and so can you. To find out more search Daily Echo Camera Club on Facebook.

35. Test your sense of direction at a bunny orienteering trail at Gilbert White's in Selborne, Alton. The Easter Bunny hunt with a difference36. runs daily until Sunday, April 23.

36. Check out an exhibition created by Andover Photographic Club. The presentation shows off work from beginners to advanced photographers and open from 10am until 5pm from Tuesday to Friday and 10am until 4pm on Saturday.

37. Create with like-minded crafters at Threads and Yarns in the Barn. Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton is hosting the event, which offers crafters the chance to learn from others while enjoying tea and a biscuit. It will be held at 11am on Friday.

38. Browse through vinyl records, antiques, collectables, and retro art at a fair in Winchester. The event will be held at Gordon Road on Monday at 9.30am until 3.30pm.

39. Cast your eye over a Four Seasons Art spring exhibition at Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway. The group of artists from Hampshire and Dorset will be showcasing their individual interpretations of the natural world. The exhibition opens at 10am daily until Saturday, June 11.

40. Learn about the ecology of the New Forest at a multimedia exhibition of art and science. Professor Adrian Newton of Bournemouth University created All Trees Are Clocks, which is being displayed at the New Forest Centre from 10am daily until Sunday, July 9.

41. Buy plants, food, craft items and bric-a-brac at Lymington High Street Market. The Saturday event runs from 8am until 5pm and fills the street.

42. Enjoy Easter afternoon tea at Cambium Restaurant on Sunday. Organisers say the event will celebrate the nation's culinary heritage and includes finger sandwiches, fresh-baked scones, and an array of teas. It begins at midday.

43. Try your hand at climbing in free taster sessions at Woodmill Activity Centre in Southampton. All safety kit will be provided by the team and people of all abilities are welcome. The event begins at 6pm on Monday.

44. Combine music and Easter eggs at the EGGStravORGANza event at St James' Park, Southampton. Six fairground organs will provide musical entertainment and there will also be swingboats and a bouncy castle. Get involved between midday and 4pm on Monday.

45. Gaze upon some unusual at at Abstraction with Stephen Snoddy. The painter took 10 abstract works and painted his own response to create 'couplets', which are then put on show. The exhibition at Southampton City Art Gallery runs until April 29.

46. Discover what life was life on a living history tour at Buckler's Hard in the New Forest. The historic shipbuilding village is hosting a quiz trail, while costumed experts will bring history to life. The tours run until April 23.

47. Head to the Mayflower Theatre for an "enchanting" musical adaption of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Wonderland has been described as "inspirational" and will be performed from Tuesday, April 18, until Saturday, April 22.

48. Go the The Point in Eastleigh and take in When You Wish Upon a Star. The Sue Merrett School of Dance production re-tells the traditional tale of Pinocchio and is described as being "full of surprises". It will be performed at 2pm and 7pm on Thursday, April 13, and Saturday, April 15, and 7pm on Friday, April 14.

49. Join poet Duncan Green for a performance at the Art House in Southampton. Guest performers include Lionheart and Rob Doherty, as well as Green himself. The event begins at 7.30pm on Friday.

50. Learn about the history of Southampton Castle at an educational exhibition. The presentation, titled A Ceremony in Stone, delves into archaeology, documentary evidence and the structures which still survive today. The exhibition at Tudor House and Garden runs until December 31 from 10am until 3pm from Tuesday to Friday, 10am until 5pm on Saturday to Sunday, and is closed on Mondays.
