A THANKSGIVING service in memory of a much-loved former teacher is taking place today.

Chris Nuttall passed away recently at her home in Cheltenham, and was a well-respected teacher at Cranbourne School.

Chris taught at the school between 1980-1985, as well as working previously at Fairfields Junior School. After that, she took the mantle of headship at a junior school in Hampshire, before becoming a school inspector and mentor in her over 40 years in the education system.

Over the past six years, the former teacher turned to writing as she published four books, the sale of which raised thousands of pounds for cancer charities.

The celebration service will be taking place at 12 noon on Monday March 20 at Cambray Baptist Church in Cheltenham following a small, private service at the crematorium.

At Chris’ request, anyone attending should wear bright colours instead of black. There is also a request for no flowers, but you can donate to Cancer Research or the Sue Ryder Hospice at Leckhampton Court. Anyone is welcome to attend.
