FORMER students from a Whitchurch school are being invited back for a catch up and a reminisce this weekend.

Testbourne Community School’s Class of ’85 reunion will see former students meet up at the school hall and join in dancing and catching up with what’s happened since they last saw each other. The event will feature a live band, as well as a tuck shop full of sweets for extra authenticity, with money from the shop being donated to Kingfisher Day Care in Laverstoke.

Ex-students are coming from all over the country in order to meet up with old friends. However, while not everyone is able to make it, two former students will be meeting up together in Australia and video calling the event to chat to their friends.

Member of the organising committee Jenny Hyam, said: “We all just started linking up on Facebook. Then once we got a few of us together, we decided to set up a page and try and gauge interest in the idea. Then when we got more than 60 people in the first day or so, we knew it was going to be popular.”

Around 70 former school pupils are going to be attending, in addition to six teachers. Mr and Mrs Waterer, Mr and Mrs Cross, Mrs Bryant and Mrs Bowley will be seeing their students again.

Another member of the organising committee and former pupil, Tara Harding, said: “It has been so much fun regularly meeting up in the hope of locating as many ex-pupils as possible and apologies to those still not located but we really did try. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on the fourth as we step back in time and dance to all the hits from the 80s.”

There are still a few students in the year who haven’t been found yet, so if you were in the class of ’85 at Testbourne, then you can visit testbourneclassof85.businesscatalyst.com and get your ticket. The event will be taking place on Saturday February 4 at Testbourne School hall from 6pm-1am.
