HUNDREDS of cannabis plants and replica guns have been seized during a raid on a house in Basingstoke.
Officers removed approximately 300 cannabis plants as part of a warrant executed at a house in Old Worting Road, Basingstoke, on the morning of Monday January 30.
They also recovered three imitation rifles, two imitation handguns and one imitation shotgun. Two crossbows were also recovered.
A 48-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested in connection with this warrant. He has been released on police bail until April 26, pending further enquiries.
The warrant was carried out as part of Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Fortress, a campaign to reduce the harm of drug-related violence.
Sergeant Carl Holmes, of the Basingstoke Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This successful operation underlines our commitment to disrupting drugs supply and drug-related issues in Basingstoke.
“The role of the community in tackling this type of crime is vital – if we do not know about it, we cannot do something about it.
“If you are aware of drug-related activity where you live, then please call us on 101.
“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.”
