FOUR fire crews tackled a house blaze in Popley earlier this afternoon.

The fire crews, three from Basingstoke and one from Odiham, attended the fire in Egerton Drive at 2.30pm this afternoon.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the blaze was an outside the property, believed to have started in the garden, which quickly spread to the ground floor kitchen and damaged a window box outside a first floor bedroom.

No injuries were reported and it was confirmed no one was inside the property at the time.

A spokesperson for the service said fire crews quickly went down to two from Basingstoke and the fire was extinguished by 3.40pm.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and two jets to tackle the blaze.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service is set to launch an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
