VENUE bosses have confirmed cancelled shows are now in the process of being rebooked.

Adam Hornblow, company director for music venue STAGE, has told The Gazette that following the cancellation and takeover of the Churchill Way club, artists are beginning to be re-contracted to perform.

He confirmed that Alexander O’Neal’s show has now been rearranged for another night but has invited music fans who have purchased tickets for all shows that have been cancelled to a special show at the venue on Saturday night.

Originally singer Alexander O’Neal was expected to play at the Basingstoke venue, but due to the venue’s original owners going into liquidation and new investors taking over the company, contracts between all artists had to be renegotiated.

But music fans are welcome to come to the venue on Saturday to see artist Pauline Henry, singer from iconic 90s group The Chimes, for free.

Mr Hornblow said: “Our primary concern at STAGE after recent changes is to show our customers that we are looking after them.

“It’s vitally important that our customers know they can trust their new local concert venue and this Saturday we want to say thank you for their patients while we rebook events by putting on an absolutely stunning concert for all who have bought tickets.”

He added: “We’re in the process of rebooking other events, all tickets for Alexander O’Neal will be valid for the rescheduled concert and we will advertise this date, as well as others, as soon as we have completed the process.”

All customers for STAGE shows are invited to attend the event and will also be able to attend the rearranged show they purchased tickets for.

Customers will be able to bring email confirmation that they have purchased a ticket for a show for free entrance to the event or purchase tickets for £5.

Those who have purchased VIP tickets will also be welcome to use this space within the venue, but tickets are on a first come first served basis.

Pauline Henry was renowned in the 90s for hits such as ‘Heaven’ and a re-worked version of ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’.
