A YOUNG woman was robbed while walking in Basingstoke on Wednesday night.
The incident happened while the 22-year-old woman was walking along Churchill Way West at around 10.30pm on Wednesday 24 August.
The woman was walking between Wickes and Deep Lane when a man approached the woman from behind and assaulted her before grabbing her handbag.
She resisted and struggled before the man ran off with her belongings.
The man is described as white, 5 foot 3 inches with a skinny build, and was
wearing a hooded top and possibly wearing a baseball cap.
Police are now asking for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Lewis Ambler from the Northern Investigations Team said: “Did you witness this incident or see a person matching this description in the area?
