WHAT started as a chat among friends down the pub escalated into travelling around the UK raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Seven motorcycle enthusiasts battled against the elements to visit the UK’s five capital cities, in five days on bikes they have restored for just £500.
Organiser of the 555 challenge, Neil Williams, from Oakridge decided to set up the challenge after seeing first hand the support the people at Macmillan offer to families and people battling cancer.
“I lost my mum in 2012 to cancer and the Macmillan staff really did a lot to help her,” Neil told The Gazette.
“Me and my friend Ian were just talking about what we could do to help them and that is how we came up with the 555 challenge.”
More than £2,000 has already been raised. To donate visit 555-challenge.org.
