AN UNUSUAL weather pattern could give Britain into a three month heat wave, with temperatures in North Hampshire set to rocket over 30C.
Experts say a heat surge from Europe is heading north towards the UK and should bring scorching hot temperatures to the region.
The summer sunshine is predicted to strike in June after a jet stream of air rockets northwards, opening up space for much warmer air from the southern Mediterranean and Africa to sweep in.
The stream is likely to be caused by the end of the current El Nino, a weather pattern, started in the Pacific Ocean, which has an impact on temperatures across the globe.
With the end of the current El Nino, experts predict an El Nina event, which will have a strong impact on countries in the 'mid-latitude' region, such as the UK.
Experts say that the heatwave caused by this change could even break some of Britain's longstanding records.
The highest temperature ever recorded in Britain was 38.5C in Favesham back in 2003.
