PEOPLE traveling to London by train are currently experiencing severe delays after a fire broke out by the side of the track.

The fire near Vauxhall station is causing disruption of more than an hour to people’s journey times as emergency services battle the flames.

All routes in and out of London Waterloo are experiencing delays and passengers are advised to seek alternative routes where possible.

South West Trains from Basingstoke to London Waterloo have delays of more than an hour and passengers are being advised to use alternative services to get to the capital, South West Train tickets will be valid on other services for today.

Passengers are advised to allow plenty of time for their journey as stations are currently experiencing a high volume of people being held there.

Fire crews were called to Vauxhall station at 3am this morning, and had to close part of the station to deal with the flames.

A spokesperson for South West Trains said: “A slow service is likely to run throughout the day while emergency services deal with the issue.”
