LADIES of Basingstoke delved deep into their purses to support a charity evening held at Planet Ice, in Basingstoke Leisure Park.
The ladies night fundraiser, organised by Sharron Long, is part of her fundraising drive ahead of a 450km cycle ride from Vietnam to Cambodia to support the Women V Cancer charity.
Women who attended the event on Saturday, April 16, were able to enjoy karaoke, make-up stalls, raffle prizes and the Basingstoke Bison player auction.
The players would act as the highest bidders’ personal topless waiter for the remainder of the night.
"There was a bit of bragging rights among the players to see who could be sold for the most,” said the 51-year-old.
Mrs Long’s son, Ciaran – who plays for the Bison – went for the highest at £125, and even Mrs Long’s husband joined in, auctioned off for £60.
The night raised a total of £1,939.82. To sponsor Mrs Long visit justgiving.com/ Sharron-Long2.
