DAVID Cameron is used to facing tough questions, and when a group of 10-year-olds visited Downing Street, they didn’t hold back.

Among the 10 students who visited the Prime Minister was Cliddesden Primary School student James Woods.

James had the opportunity to meet the man who runs the country after winning a competition through First NewsFirst News newspaper, which is celebrating its 10th birthday in May.

The completion gave 10 students the chance to visit 10 Downing Street as part of the publication anniversary.

The 10-year-old had to submit a question to First News stating what he would ask the PM if he met him.

“I wanted to ask him how I would go about becoming an MP or even Prime Minister one day, and how the EU referendum would affect me personally,” said James.

“He didn’t dodge my question, which some politicians may have done, and said if we leave the EU it would be harder for me to study in Europe if I chose to.”

James was selected out of 900 entrants to take a guided tour around the famous building before sitting down with Mr Cameron to putpose some questions to him.

James told The Gazette that the experience was like watching something on TV.

He added: “I never believed I would meet the pPrime mMinister and I think everyone was a little bit nervous about meeting him but he was really friendly.

“Even when I was sat right next to him I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.”

Even though Mr Cameron was only allocated 15 minutes with the 10 students, but ended up spending half-an-hour with them discussing their interest and what they were doing in school.

When they group wasere leaving there wasy had an unexpected surprise as Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne pulled up and greeted the children.

James’ mum Natalie, who attended the event with her son, said she was blown away by how much time these powerful men had for the 10-year-olds.

She said: “They were so open and friendly and were really interested in what the kids had to say.”
