THIEVES broke into a secure compound unit, near, Hartley Wintney, stealing thousands of pounds worth of gardening equipment. 

Police are investigating two reported incidents of break-ins in the area between April 21 and April 22. 

The first incident saw the thieves attempting to break into a detached garage of a property in Arrow Lane, Hartley Wintney between midnight on April 21 and 9.22am on April 22. 

Officers reported that the thieves did not gain access to the garage and nothing was stolen, but the suspects may be connected to the second break-in, which took place in Bramshill Road, Bramshill. 

The thieves broke into the compound unit, which was separate to the property, stealing high value gardening equipment between 6pm on April 21 and 7.15pm on April 22. 

Police are urging residents to make sure all external outbuildings are secure to prevent the risk of thefts.
