A WHITCHURCH man has been sentenced to three months in prison after admitting to driving while disqualified and being four times over the legal alcohol limit.
Peter Higgins, of The Green, pleaded guilty to driving along Andover Road in Whitchurch in December while being more than four times over the alcohol limit when he appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.
The 57-year-old also admitted to driving a Skoda Octavia while disqualified and without insurance.
Higgins was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison and disqualified from driving for six-and-a-half years.
The offence was deemed so serious because it was in flagrant breach of a court order imposed to protect the public, which was aggravated by him being over the drink drive limit and his failure to respond to sentences for previous convictions.
He was also ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.
