JEWELLERY of sentimental value was stolen from a property in Basingstoke.

Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward after a 77-year-old woman returned to her house in Homesteads Road, Kempshott, on February 10, to find her property had been broken into, between 3.15pm and 5.15pm.

Officers believe one of the offenders may have left the scene carrying a brown briefcase.

Items stolen included a sliver-coloured Tudor Rose women’s watch in a red velvet box, a gold round face watch with Roman numerals on the face, and a two-strand gold necklace.

Also taken from the scene was a sliver bracelet with a scroll-type pattern, a silver locket with two photographs inside and a gold powder compact with an E II inscription on the front.

PC James Copley, of Basingstoke CID said: “Did you see or hear anything in relation to this incident?

“Do you have CCTV in your property that might have caught anything suspicious during the times stated?”
