ANOTHER highly offensive message has been spray painted on a wall in Basingstoke.

Police have renewed an appeal for help in catching those responsible after a fifth incident of criminal damage was reported in the town on Monday, at Fairfields Primary School, in Council Road. As reported by The Gazette, police launched an investigation after four separate reports of criminal damage.

Two of the offences took place at the Territorial Army building in Penrith Road, on the nights of Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21.

The other two offences took place at Maplin, in Winchester Road, on Friday night, and on a wall at All Saints Church, in Southern Road, on Saturday night.

All five offences involved the use of black spray paint and took place overnight.

Sergeant Trevor Taylor, from Basingstoke police station, said: “Incidents like these can be damaging to local communities and will not be tolerated.

“Anyone who engages in such activity is committing a criminal offence which could result in a custodial sentence.

“Do you know of someone who has been in possession of a large volume of black spray paint recently? Have you seen somebody purchasing it, or seen spray paint cans stashed away?

“Any such information could help our investigation.”
