A SPECIAL programme of free activities for young people across Basingstoke will return this month.

The Hallowe'en Streetz programme will provide a series of free half-term evening activities for youngsters aged between 11 and 17-years-old between October 26 and October 30.

It follows the success of this year’s Summer Streetz programme.

During the week, activity sessions will be offered in Buckskin, Popley, Sherfield Park, Brighton Hill, Oakridge, Rooksdown, South Ham, Eastrop, Tadley and Bramley, Hatch Warren and Winklebury.

The programme has received financial support from housing association Affinity Sutton, Anvil Arts and partnership support from Safer North Hampshire.

The council’s Cabinet member for partnerships, Councillor Cathy Osselton, said: “The October half-term free sessions offer young people in the borough a chance to try out a new activity or continue one that they may have tried during the summer sessions.

“These sessions also continue the great work done by the communities, supported by the council’s community development team, to work with their own young people to plan and run their activity sessions.”
