FOLLOWING last year’s record-breaking exhibition at The Frame Gallery, in Odiham, famous wildlife artist Pip McGarry is to return to the venue.

He will unveil his collection of new oil paintings, entitled The Big Five, this month. The work has been inspired by months spent in the African bush and years of being around big cats at Hampshire’s Marwell Zoo where Pip is artist in residence.

Subjects will include depictions of big cats including a cheetah, leopard, lion, tiger, jaguar and snow leopard, and wild animals such as zebra, buffalo, ostrich and elephant. By popular demand, there will also be a series of pieces featuring baby animals.

At the recent opening of Pip’s purpose-built art gallery at Marwell Zoo, which exclusively houses his work, one painting sold for £48,000.

The 2014 exhibition at The Frame was Pip’s second most successful solo exhibition, achieving six figure sales.

Pip said: “The Frame Gallery is one of the few galleries I will be working with outside of Marwell. I’m really looking forward to showcasing my latest work in October, and hopefully beating last year’s record.”

Jan Baker, owner of the gallery, added: “Having an artist of Pip’s magnitude at the gallery will always draw people from across the country – great news for a village the size of Odiham."

“Interest in Pip’s paintings has really helped to put our lovely corner of Hampshire on the art buying map.”

The Big Five runs up until October18. Find out more from theframe-gallery.co.uk.
