THE first ever Worldwide Whitchurch Weekend was deemed a ‘resounding success’ during a review with the town council.
Organiser Paul Driver reported back to Whitchurch Town Council, which brought together representatives from Whitchurch communities across the British Isles.
During the meeting, Mr Driver revealed that the event had raised around £2,500, which would be used to pay back the council’s £500 grant.
The rest of the money will be donated to various non-profit groups in the town.
Whitchurch in Shropshire will be the next hosts in 2017.
