THIS is the man police would like to speak to following three assaults in Basingstoke.

Between 4.30pm and 4.50pm on Monday, a man was at the back of Basingstoke train station when he witnessed a man assault a teenage boy and then walk away.

The 38-year-old followed the attacker who, upon realising he was being followed, assaulted the man, knocking him to the floor.

Another man, aged 31, then stepped in to help the victim and was also assaulted.

The offender then left the scene.

Both men received minor injuries.

He was unshaven and wearing a red checked shirt with blue jeans, a black belt with a silver coloured buckle and black shoes.
