SCIENCE books have been donated to Tadley Library.

Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) bought dozens of children’s science books for the library, in Mulfords Hill, to help support its Summer Reading Challenge, Record Breakers.

The challenge brings together the worlds of fact and fiction, challenging young readers to explore some of the astonishing real-life achievements and world records featured in the Guinness World Records books.

The books donated by AWE, which suit all age ranges, were specifically selected to support the Government’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) agenda.

Michele Maidment, secretary to the AWE community committee, said:: “The community committee is delighted to support Tadley library by donating the science books for the children and residents to enjoy.”

Councillor Andrew Gibson, who is Hampshire County Council’s executive member for culture, recreation and communities, added: “The Library Service is grateful to AWE for donating 30 books on science and engineering for all ages.”
