THE developer behind a new Bramley housing scheme has submitted detailed plans on how it will build the first phase of the project.

Charles Church (Thames Valley) has submitted a reserved matters planning application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for phase one of the new development in Minchens Lane, Bramley.

The development, which was given outline planning by councillors on the borough council’s development control committee on December 3, will see 200 homes built over two phases.

Charles Church (Thames Valley) has said 15 of the properties will have one or two-bedrooms.

A total of 22 affordable homes will be built during the first phase but no further details have been given about the housing mix.

The application states: “The proposed site layout seeks to ensure that the approved development will be of a high quality through the creation of open areas of green space and strong features that should help to give the eventual development a scheme identity.

“The proposed scheme will form the first phase of the approved development and will provide a high quality scheme that reflects both the local vernacular and the approved concept masterplan for the site.”

It adds: “In accord with the approved masterplan, the proposed scheme will integrate with the existing route network within the local area and the pattern of wildlife corridors and open spaces which already exist as well as providing enhanced connections to key local facilities including Clift Meadow and Clift Surgery.”
