NORTH West Hampshire MP Kit Malthouse visited the Tadley Citizens Advice Bureau to learn more about the charity.

Mr Malthouse visited the charity’s office, in Franklin Avenue, Tadley, to meet staff and trustees to find out about the vital work they do for the local community and in collaboration with the Basingstoke office.

The charity, which provides free advice to people on issues such as debt, housing, benefits and relationship problems, will celebrate its 30th anniversary in October.

Jo Slimin, the chair of trustees for the Tadley CAB, said: “This was a great opportunity for us to show the new MP the work that we do here to support his constituents and to hopefully develop the same good working relationship we had with Sir George [Young].

“I am sure he was amazed about the variety of work that is delivered locally by our band of committed, experiences and well trained volunteers.

“We operate as a separate independent charity with our own trustee board but work in collaboration with other Hampshire bureaus to deliver new initiatives."

Working together makes us more efficient and prepared for the funding and other challenges we continue to face.”

The charity is currently seeking new trustee board members and volunteers.

Anyone interested in any of the roles should contact the office on 01189 817567 for more information.
