POLICE have named an 81-year-old who died following a single vehicle collision on the A287 in Hook on Saturday morning.
John Ansell from Hove, in East Sussex, was killed when, around a third of a mile south of junction 5 of the M3, his black BMW 730, which was travelling north, crossed the central reservation and collided with a barrier next to the opposite carriageway.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the incident, which took place at around 7.40am.
The 81-year-old was taken to Frimley Park Hospital, where he later died.
Anyone who saw the incident or the BMW on the A287 prior to the collision is asked to contact PC Michael Nol from the Roads Policing Unit at Whitchurch on 101, quoting reference 44150282335.
