MEMBERS of Osama Bin Laden’s family are reported to have been onboard a plane which crashed at Blackbushe Airport yesterday.

The private jet crashed near the airfield and into cars at a car auction site next door.

The Saudi ambassador to the UK, Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf Al Saud, said those on the plane included members of the family of Osama Bin Laden – the notorious founder of terror group al-Qaeda, which claimed responsibility for the September 11 attacks on the United States.

In a statement on Twitter, the Saudi embassy offered condolences to the Bin Laden family.

The embassy said it was working with the British authorities to investigate the incident.

It is believed that among those dead are bin Laden's stepmother and sister.

The statement said: "His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf Al Saud... has paid his condolences to the family and relatives of Mohammed bin Laden at Blackbushe airport in Britain for the great loss they have suffered as a result of the crash of the plane that was carrying the family."

Police were called to the scene just after 3pm yesterday.

The plan, an Embraer Phenom 300, had taken off in Milan, Italy, and crashed at the airport, to the east of Hartley Wintney, exploding on impact.

A spokesman for the airfield said the plane reached the end of the runway while attempting to land.

The pilot and three passengers were killed, but nobody on the ground was injured, Hampshire Constabulary said.

The force said it was working with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch to investigate the crash.
