A CARE HOME treated guests to lots of tea and cake as part of a national open day scheme.
The Abbeyfield Society, which owns Roland House – a sheltered accommodation scheme, in Cliddesden Road – opened the doors to guests last Tuesday as part of Care Home Open Day.
Around 25 people, including Eastrop councillor Stuart Parker, attended the open day and a raffle was held to raise funds to repair the roof of a summer house at the complex.
The raffle pulled in £50 to go towards the repair of the summer house roof which has been damaged through wear and tear.
Prizes up for grabs included bottles of champagne as well as a fruit basket and chocolate cake donated by members of the Basingstoke Blues Club which meets at the Moose Centre, in Churchill Way.
