A MAN was freed from his car following a collision on the A33 on Saturday evening.

Firefighters from Basingstoke fire station were called to reports of a three-car accident on the A33, near Sherfield Park, in Sherfield-on-Loddon at around 7.20pm on Saturday evening.

Two crews took around an hour to cut the roof from his car and free the man from the vehicle.

South Central Ambulance Service sent three ambulance crews and one ambulance officer to the scene and two patients were taken to Basingstoke hospital while three other people assessed at the scene required no further treatment.

No further details are known at this stage.
