A YOUNG woman was freed from her car following a two-car collision yesterday evening.

Two crews from Basingstoke fire station were called to reports of a two-car collision on the A30 between Hatch Warren Roundabout and Kempshott Roundabout, just after 5pm yesterday evening.

When the crews arrived, the driver of one of the cars - a Ford KA - had to be cut out of the car after she told firefighters that she had neck and back pain.

The road was closed for almost an hour whilst eight firefighters freed the young woman from the car and she was taken to Basingstoke hospital for further treatment.

No further details of her injuries are known at this stage.
