A BASINGSTOKE grandmother will be raising money for an appeal set up after a Popley youngster was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Suzanne Hobbs, of Pershore Road, Popley, will be selling a selection of items which have been donated to her, at a car boot sale at the Hillside Nurseries, in Alton this Sunday to raise money for the Jack Bristow appeal.

Items include specially-knitted cardigans and a selection of china plates.

Ten-year-old Jack, along with brother Alfie, aunt Samantha Bristow and grandmother Vicky Bristow will be at the event and will hand out posters to raise awareness of the appeal which is raising money for the Piam Brown ward at Southampton General Hospital.

As previously reported in The Gazette, Jack was thought to be the youngest person in the UK to be diagnosed with testicular cancer in December last year.

He had his last round of chemotherapy before his 10th birthday last month.

Suzanne is also planning to arrange a number of other events including a charity run at Down Grange.
