YOUNG entrepreneurs won a money-making challenge and raised more than £400 for charity.

Year 11 students from The Dove House School Academy, in Sutton Road, Basingstoke were named regional champions in the School Accumulator Challenge.

The team went head-to-head with youngsters from across the south in the competition to make the most profit from £50 in 10 weeks.

The Basingstoke students raised more than £400 by making baguettes, washing cars and selling sweets at events between November and January.

Hannah Stroud, a teacher at the special education school, said: “This challenge was great for building teamwork skills and listening to each other. They had to make joint decisions and also deal with money.”
