A WORLD War One ambulance will cruise into Basingstoke as part of a high profile drive to improve future health services.

The vintage vehicle – nicknamed Agatha - will arrive at Milestones Museum tomorrow for the Healthwatch Hampshire roadshow.

The health watchdog is inviting people to have their say on how to improve health and social care facilities in their area.

This week’s theme is ‘Because I spoke up’ and it is part of a countywide scheme featuring a range of events and activities.

Agatha - dating back to 1910 - will be parked at an information stand from 11am-3pm where a history expert will demonstrate how it works and reveal what life was like for health workers during the Great War.

People are being invited to give their feedback as part of a video diary and win the chance to receive a prize.

Organisers are seeking to gain views from at least 300 people at the event.

The watchdog is also setting up an information stand and video diary room from 9am-5.30pm on Saturday in The Malls, in the town centre.

Participants have the chance to win a range of gifts including free shopping vouchers.
