POLICE are appealing for information following an assault on Winchester Road yesterday evening.
The assault took place at the traffic lights on Winchester Road near to Brighton Hill Retail Park shortly after 5.45pm yesterday evening.
A member of the public reported the incident to the police after he saw a man get out of his vehicle and then assault the driver of another vehicle who was sat in his car.
The offender then climbed back in his vehicle and drove off.
PC Christopher Lavin from Basingstoke Response and Patrol team said: “We are appealing for the victim of this assault to contact the police.
“We are also urging any witnesses to the incident to come forward with any information.”
