A DERELICT listed building in Lychpit could be transformed into new homes if plans are given the green light by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Leo Developments Limited has applied to the borough council to transform Grade II listed Daneshill Court, in Daneshill Drive, Lychpit into one one-bedroom flat and two two-bedroom flats.

In addition, the applicant has asked for permission to demolish the garages at the site and to build six four-bedroom properties, four three-bedroom homes and two two-bedroom homes.

If approved, a new access onto Great Binfields Road, in Chineham would be created.

The application says: “The site is currently occupied by a vacant listed building which is in disrepair and a garage building which are set back from Great Binfields by some 50 metres.

“The proposal to form 15 dwelling units provides a development that makes efficient use of the site whilst ensuring that the qualities of the listed building and its setting are preserved and enhanced.”

A decision on the application is expected by April 17.
