THIS is the man police want to speak to after a series of thefts involving refunds from Boots stores in Basingstoke and Chineham.

The first offence took place at the store in Old Basing Mall, Basingstoke, on February 1 this year.

A man picked up an electric razor from a display and removed the security tags. He then took that, together with a lower priced razor also taken from the display, to the till.

He told staff he owned the more expensive razor but wished to exchange it for the other, together with fragrance.

Staff allowed this and gave the man a receipt for the goods worth £295.98.

On two other occasions, the man took goods from displays and obtained refunds valued at £280 and £275.

Police have appealed for information, and have released CCTV stills of a man they would like to speak to about the thefts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hampshire Constabulary on 101, quoting the reference number 44150052965.
