A SINGER-songwriter visited secondary school students to talk about his music.
Sam Evans, a full-time musician who is studying a BA Honours in professional musicianship at BIMM Bristol, spoke to pupils in Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 at The Clere School, in Earlstone Common, Burghclere.
The 19-year-old visited the music department with a colleague from the music college where he studies to offer an insight into a career in music after GCSEs and A Levels. He also gave a live performance with fellow band member Andy Slade.
Sam has performed at over 100 gigs across the UK, and has toured Ireland and Romania.
He brought a copy of his album O Zi Placuta to give to the students, and signed his autograph on copies of the CD.
Sandra Kirton, music curriculum leader at The Clere, said: “Students really enjoyed the afternoon with Sam. They heard some excellent live music and were able to ask pertinent questions about composition, performance and life after GCSEs.
“There was a real buzz in the music department afterwards and lots of renewed excitement for music.”
