AWE in Aldermaston
TADLEY Town Council has backed the proposed storage of radioactive waste from decommissioned nuclear submarines at AWE Aldermaston.
The council has written to the Ministry of Defence to say the site is “appropriate”, adding: “We believe AWE Aldermaston has the expertise to deal with this.”
However, the council has also raised concerns about the impact on local roads, security and site capacity.
