HE HAS survived two weeks in the Celebrity Big Brother house – and our local man Keith Chegwin is still the favourite to win the show.

In the most explosive and scandalous series of the Channel 5 programme ever, housemates welcomed former glamour model Katie Price into the house last Friday night following the first eviction which saw model Chloe Goodman voted out.

And 36-year-old mum Katie has appeared to have had a calming effect on the house, with fewer arguments breaking out since she arrived.

However, housemates were upset when singer Alexander O’Neal became the third housemate to leave through the back door, after he decided to quit following a dispute with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

This week saw housemates give their nominations, with Keith selecting Alexander because he kept leaving dirty tissues everywhere, and unpopular Perez.

However, unbeknown to the celebrities, the eviction was cancelled because Alexander quit.

Viewers saw Keith, who turned 58 last Saturday, become emotional in the Diary Room when he admitted he was missing his wife and children.

The former Cheggers Plays Pop star, who lives in Ashmansworth, has remained the favourite to win the show, with William Hill currently giving odds of 3/1.

Perhaps his popularity is down to his ability to keep out of arguments – he was nicknamed Switzerland by some of the other contestants because he appears to walks out of the room during any confrontations.

However, in last night’s show, 90’s pop singer Kavana turned on Cheggers, claiming he is a “one trick pony” and “not being real”. The singer also criticised Keith for sitting on the fence during arguments in the house.

Later on, Kavana told controversial celebrity blogger Perez Hilton that he was no longer his enemy in the house, saying: “I’ve got a new enemy now. It’s not you, it’s him” – pointing to Keith.

Last night’s show finished with a visibly upset Keith telling Kavana: “I’m not your enemy.”

Viewers are expected to see the aftermath of the argument in tonight’s show on Channel 5 at 9pm.
