YOUNG soloists and a group of saxophonists played as part of a charity fundraiser at a Kingsclere church.
About 80 people attended the concert held at St Mary’s Church, in Swan Street, to raise money for the building and Basingstoke Foodbank.
Young soloists amazed the crowd during the first half, before serving mulled wine and refreshments in the interval.
After the break, a group of saxophone players called Saxitude put on a show, followed by a performance from one of the show’s organisers, Peter Murray.
The £700 raised on the night will be split equally between the two causes.
Vanessa Martin, the show’s other organiser, said: “Everybody pulled out all the stops for the evening. It was really special, with nice sound effects and lighting from Peter.
“We thought £5 per ticket was pretty good, and people were very generous with their donations. I would like to thank everybody who came and helped.”
