GREEN-FINGERED Scouts and Beavers will be looking forward to seeing the fruits of their hard work next year after they helped to plant over 200 bulbs.

Twelve children from the 1st Beaver Scouts group in Tadley came armed with their gardening tools to plant 236 spring bulbs at Tadley Town Council offices, in Franklin Avenue.

In addition, parents and siblings joined in the fun as members of the group carried out the work to earn their gardener activity and friendship challenge badges.

Assistant Beaver leader Amey Savill said: “The Beavers really enjoyed it. Town council chairman Councillor David Leeks sent me a lovely email saying it was a great community project and they would contact us in the future if they need more help.

“It was definitely a good team-building task. We had new Beavers who came and it was really good for them as it was their first event.

“It is good to raise the profile of the Beavers and Scouts in the area, and a lot of people were driving past and asking what we were doing. It was really good for their confidence.”
