SOUTH East Water is working to fix a burst water main in Brighton Hill.

The company was alerted to the incident in Hatch Warren Lane at 6am, after a 15-inch diameter water main burst, and an on-call technician was immediately sent to investigate.

The flooding resulted in the road being closed during rush-hour because of flooding.

Phillip Cereda, distribution manager for South East Water, said: “We have two teams on site currently undertaking the repair.

“Properties in the area may have experienced low water pressure as a result of this burst, however we have managed to re-route water supplies around our network to restore full supplies to customers.

“We anticipate that the repair will be completed later today.

“I would like to thank all those affected for their patience and co-operation while this emergency repair work takes place.”
