A MAN died after suffering a fatal bleed on the brain at his Laverstoke bungalow, an inquest heard.

Stephen Newman, who had been prescribed a blood thinner by his GP for a heart condition, never regained consciousness. His death was confirmed on arrival at Winchester’s Royal Hampshire County Hospital on August 15.

The court heard how the 59-year-old’s brain would have effectively shut down as the large bleed spread around his head.

Recording that Mr Newman’s death was due to natural causes, Winchester coroner Grahame Short said: “Although the blood anticoagulant was clearly a factor here, it was the haemorrhage which was the cause of death.”
