THE Tadley and District Citizens Advice Bureau will host its annual general meeting and community liaison lunch tomorrow.

Representatives from the voluntary sector across Basingstoke and Deane will gather for the event at Tadley Community Centre, in Newchurch Road, which will provide local organisations an opportunity to share tips.

Special guests at the event will include Rebecca Kennelly, the chief executive of Basingstoke Voluntary Services, formerly Basingstoke Voluntary Action, and the deputy Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Councillor Anne Court. A formal announcement will be made at the meeting which is set to see a new joint strategic manager – the chief executive of the Basingstoke branch, Graham Hatcher - working at the Tadley and Basingstoke branches.

The role will see Mr Hatcher identify and co-ordinate possible future projects and other relevant opportunities to ensure the service they provide continues to deliver in an ever-changing world.

In a joint statement, Jo Slimin, chair of the Tadley and District CAB branch, and David Rees, chair of the Basingstoke CAB branch, said: “Our two bureaus have been holding discussions to improve our collaborative working (especially as both bureaus are within the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council area) and to provide strategic management for the Tadley bureau following the departure of the manager in April 2013.

“We have now agreed and signed a working agreement. This is good news for the consistent delivery of the service for all our residents across the borough.”
