STARS of television series Dancing on Ice will reunite in Basingstoke for a spectacular nationwide tour.

Former show-winners Suzanne Shaw and Matt Evers are gearing up to skate around Basingstoke’s sparkling Planet Ice rink at speeds of over 30mph.

The Leisure Park complex is one of a handful of venues hosting a team of celebrity and elite skaters for an exclusive performance based on the ITV series which came to an end this year, following a nine year stint.

Remaining tickets for the Professionals on Ice tour are selling out fast as eager fans get ready to catch a glimpse of the stars in the flesh, reigniting the magic of the television contest.

Former Hear’Say singer Suzanne and world champion figure skater Matt are in a team with 11 professionals and two other celebrities.

They include professional skater Frankie Pultney, along with actor Sam Attwater and his Dancing on Ice partner, now wife, professional skater Vicky Ogden.

Backing them is a team of Hampshire youngsters and amateur adult skaters eager to show off their skills.

High adrenaline highlights include mesmerising ‘head-banger’ manoeuvres, spellbinding skills and fire shows as they take to the ice in dazzling sequined outfits.

It will be set to a soundtrack of popular and dramatic music and there will also be a Hallowe’en twist.

Fans will have the chance to meet the professionals afterwards, receive posters and pose for photographs.

Suzanne, 33, said: “Skating is a fantastic sport. We want to carry on our passion for ice skating while showcasing the next generation of ice skaters.”

The stars have been impressed by the skills and dedication of the local skaters who they say will receive a warm reception from the audience.

Matt, 37, who is also a broadcaster in his native USA, said: “It’s very important we give back to the community and encourage the next generation.

“I’ve always thought skating is the closest thing to flying and the speed aspect is a really exciting part of it. This shows there’s life after Dancing on Ice.”

The performance will run from 7pm-9pm this Sunday followed by an hour meet-and-greet with the performers.

Tickets range from £15-40 with family and group bookings also available. Contact 01256 355 266 or see www.theprofessionalsonice.co.uk to book.
