Bike crime spree
RESIDENTS in Basingstoke are being urged to lock up their bikes following a spate of reported thefts.
Over the last month alone, Hampshire Constabulary has received 29 reports of bikes thefts mostly across the town centre area. However, thefts have also been reported in Brighton Hill and Hatch Warren.
A 17-year-old boy, from Basingstoke, has been charged with two offences of handling stolen goods following the theft of two bikes on September 25. He has been ordered to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on December 11.
