HOUSING options for residents across Basingstoke and Deane are set to become clearer with the launch of a new website.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has launched its Housing Options Online website, providing quick and easy, 24 hour access to help and information on different types of housing in the borough.

There are a range of housing options available to residents across the borough including shared ownership, mutual exchange, social housing, sheltered housing and privately rented accommodation, but not all are suitable for everyone.

The website will help people to find out the options available to them, while providing support and advice.

Councillor Terri Reid, borough Cabinet member for housing and regeneration, said: “The Housing Options Online tool has been designed to provide people with a quick, simple and convenient way of doing this.

“It can be viewed any time of the day and night and reduces the need to travel to the council offices to talk over options.

“Face-to-face advice will still be available, of course, but we are encouraging people to make use of the website and the extensive information and advice available on it.”

Internet access is available at libraries across the borough and a computer will be available at the borough council’s offices in London Road, Basingstoke.
