HAPPY birthday: Yesterday, Cliddesden WI will be celebrating their 92nd birthday! That’s certainly impressive by anyone’s standards.
As the first WI in the UK was formed in 1915, that must make Cliddesden one of the oldest in the country.
There will be no competition this month, and members of other local WIs will be joining the celebration.
HARVEST Festival: This Sunday, St Leonard’s Church will have its annual Harvest Festival. There will be a family service at 11.15am, followed by lunch.
THE Cliddesden, Farleigh Wallop and Ellisfield Horticultural Society, AKA the Three Villages Gardening Club: Have their last talk for the year on Wednesday, September 24, at Ellisfield Village Hall. Mrs Holiday-Bishop will talk about her experiences of the life of the people in Borneo and going on Safari with the Ghurkas!
