THE WHITCHURCH Silk Mill Country Show is set to take place this Sunday.

More than 1,000 visitors flocked to the opening show last year and the Friends of Whitchurch Silk Mill committee, which organises the show, is hoping the second event will be bigger and better.

Visitors to the event, which is held at the historic Silk Mill, in Winchester Street, Whitchurch, will be able to able to grab a bargain from a variety of stalls selling food and craft items.

They will also be able to enjoy live music and an origami boat regatta along the River Test.

Stallholders on the day include Hardy’s Cottage Plants, which is based in Freefolk Priors, Harroway Organic Gardens, which is based in Kingsclere Road, Whitchurch as well as a variety of food and drink providers.

Marion Brinton, chairman of the Friends of Whitchurch Silk Mill committee, said: “We created a really good mini-festival vibe last year and a lot of hard work has gone into ensuring a similar success this time.”

Admission to the event is priced at £2 per adult and under-16s go free.
