HUNDREDS of parents partied on the village green in Hartley Wintney to raise money for two schools and a playgroup.
A total of 263 people put on their gladrags for the Event on the Green, the annual fundraiser organised by the Friends of Hartley Wintney Schools Committee.
They were treated to a three-course sit-down meal that included a meze platter, cold pea soup, a hog roast and selection of cheeses.
The guests also danced in the marquee set up on the village’s cricket green to music by 29Fingers, who played at this year’s Lowde Fest at Hazeley Bottom.
Natalie Carey, one of the organisers, said: “It was a great night – the sun shone and it didn’t rain.
“29Fingers were excellent and they played through to midnight and I think most people would have carried on dancing after that if they could.”
Tickets for the event cost £35 and the expected £3,000 raised will be shared between Greenfields Junior School, Oakwood Infants School and Oakwood Community Playgroup.
